The National Mentorship Movement ("NMM", "we", "us") is a South African Non-Profit Company and Section 18A Public Benefit Organisation. We respect your privacy and handle your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights.

Who is responsible for your information

NMM is the responsible party for the personal information processed through this website and our mentorship programmes. Our registration and Section 18A details are shown in the site footer. For any privacy question, contact us at connect@mentorshipmovement.co.za.

Information we collect

  • Details you give us when you register as a mentee or mentor, or enquire about partnering, such as your name, email address, and the information needed to match a mentorship relationship.
  • Information you submit through our mentorship platform (provided by Chronus) during onboarding and matching.
  • Limited technical and usage data collected automatically to keep the site secure and understand how it is used.

How we use your information

  • To run, support, and report on mentorship programmes.
  • To respond to enquiries and send you programme-related updates and surveys.
  • To meet our legal, governance, and Section 18A reporting obligations.

Sharing your information

We share personal information only as needed to run mentorship programmes, for example with the mentor or mentee you are matched with, with our mentorship platform provider, and, where a programme is delivered with a partner organisation, with that partner. We do not sell your personal information.

Storage and security

We keep your information only for as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, and we apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it. Some of our service providers may process information outside South Africa; where they do, we take steps to ensure an adequate level of protection.
